Ending Editing - Production

On December 5th, we ended the editing process and in turn the project in total. When we returned to our project to begin editing, I realized we did not reach the minimum time required yet. I began trying to fix this issue by slightly extending every clip by just a little, to not affect the purposeful placement too much. However, even after this we needed almost 10 more seconds of content. It was prevalent that we needed some new slips. I suggested for Jack to film a couple of establishing shots and other shots in general of his neighborhood to add as filler. We then discussed where we would place these shots. Jack and I debated if we should place these clips at the beginning of the end of the video. I brought up that placing the clips at the beginning of the video will alter how the clips fall on the beats of the music. This would be very counterproductive because we took a lot of editing time to ensure this. After the shots were filmed, we embedded them onto the end of the video, and it was finally long enough. Next came the transitions. I added many transitions where I deemed necessary to make the commercial flow more. After this came the final touches. This included the song title, artist credits, and our names. Discussing the placement of these took some time. Jack wanted them to be like easter eggs, however, Francesco and I wanted them to be straightforward. After this dispute was settled all that was left was checking for mistakes. I noticed that one of our clips was accidentally filmed horizontally. This was a huge issue as the rest was filmed vertically. We fixed this by making the frame horizontal and adding another clip that filled in the blank space on the side. With this the music video was complete.
